Patient Porter

A Patient Porter plays a vital role in the smooth operation of hospitals and healthcare facilities by safely transporting patients, medical equipment, and essential supplies within the premises. They ensure patients are moved with care, comfort, and dignity across departments such as emergency, radiology, operating theatres, and wards.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport patients in wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds
Assist in transferring patients for tests, procedures, or discharges
Move medical equipment, oxygen cylinders, and documents between units
Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of transport equipment
Respond quickly and professionally to emergency transport calls
Follow safety, infection control, and patient handling protocols

Skills & Qualities:

Physically fit and able to lift/move patients with care
Calm, respectful, and empathetic toward patients
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
Basic training in patient handling and hygiene (preferred)

Work Environment:
Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, emergency units, and surgical departments.
